How bad is favoritism in national sports reporting?

I’ve been watching different sites for a while and it’s ridiculous. Is playing good baseball not enugh to get noticed anymore? I’m sick of hearing about the Yankees, Red Sox, Giants, White Sox, Cubs, and Cardinals all the time. All of those teams (other than the Red Sox) have not been playing good baseball yet they still receive all of the attention. However, the teams that are playing good baseball, such as the Brewers, Tigers, Indians, and Angels, receive little coverage.
