Did the cleveland Indians have a different mascot than they have now?

Currently the Cleveland Indians have a Mascot named Slider who is a big purple monster. Did they used to have a guy dressed as an Indian or something other than the current Mascot? It seems like they could do better than Slider!
I understand about Chief Wahoo, but did they ever have a Mascot at the stadium before Slider? Was there a Chief Wahoo other than the cartoon drawing, as in a guy at the stadium dressed as Wahoo????
